FAQs − Frequently Asked Questions about PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
Are you interested in scheduling Preventative Maintenance for your machine or are you already using this service and have a question? Then we might have the answer you need here.
GENERAL
For machines in constant use, we recommend a regularly scheduled service every three to six months, depending on usage, to guarantee your machine runs smoothly for years. Additionally, we recommend you request a service after an extended period of downtime, roughly after two weeks turned off.
Servicing frequency depends more on usage. On busy sites we normally recommend quarterly and by annually for less busy sites
There certainly is! Connected wash is a tool available to all Winterhalter clients. It is designed to increase your operating safety and optimise your washing process by connecting the warewasher to a network. The network allows for critical operating data to be analysed and evaluated and allows you to monitor and optimise the washing process in a targeted way. For perfect wash results in combination with maximum safety and optimal efficiency, CONNECTED WASH is available as an option for warewashers in the UC, PT and UF series.
Everyone knows a machine that is inspected and serviced regularly will run better for longer. This is also true of commercial warewashers: day in and day out, these machines have to measure up to the highest demands and deliver perfect wash results without breakdowns. Breakdowns aren’t a worry when you regularly service a Winterhalter.
Winterhalter dishwashers were made to work. They’re designed to run continuously without a break. As a result, things can go wrong when shut down for long periods. For example, rubber seals start to harden, limescale and bacteria build up without fresh water flow, pipes calcify, and residual detergent crystalises. This is why we recommend preventative service for all machines shut down for over two weeks.
SERVICES
Preventative Maintenance Services are preservation/upkeep services that are performed every three months to six months to ensure optimal wash and operation results from units. They are an optional service and, as such, are fully chargeable regardless of Warranty status. During the service, skilled technicians will check the machine is running smoothly and pinpoint any potential threats to effective operation at the time and in the future.
In general, you can expect:
• The technician to inspect and check all electrical connections and adjust as necessary
• The technician to check the wash and rinse temperature, including testing of elements
• The technician manually inspects limit switches and their operation
• The technician to check all door safety switches and emergency push buttons
• The technician to check all temperature settings & control operations (thermostats & temperature probes)
• The technician to check the operation of all heating elements
• The technician to check the operation of all solenoid valves and heating elements
The inspection is carried out as required by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)
All booking dates are preprogramed into a maintenance scheduled upon activation of the Preventative Maintenance service agreement. The allocators then confirm a final time and date with customers a week before the scheduled visit.
Warranty does not cover preventative maintenance, unless it was specified in with the sale of the unit.
