The system is suitable for different cup sizes and has a safety lock, which ensures the cups are securely held in place in the rack and cannot fill up with water. In addition to the cup rack, there are special inserts for existing glass and bistro racks as well as an insert for washing lids. These are available and retrofittable for all passthrough dishwashers from the PT Series.
The PT Series is our all-rounder. A real workhorse. It can be used in a variety of ways for different wash items, washing perfectly clean and with efficiency. Making it a thoroughly reliable partner behind the scenes!
PT SERIES PRODUCT FEATURES
The heart of the PT Series: Two internal S-shaped wash fields. They are the result of many years of research and development: Thanks to the flow optimisation and the special nozzle geometry, they ensure that the water is distributed evenly during cycles. This ensures first-class wash results – with a rinse water quantity from 2.2 litres per wash cycle. Quality through to the final detail: Robust axles made from stainless steel guarantee the best rotation and contributes to the high reliability of the PT. The wash fields can be easily and quickly removed for cleaning – without tools.
Ready for the future: A smart touch display is at the heart of the PT cockpit. With single-button operation, language-neutral interface and self-explanatory pictograms. The colour display reacts sensitively and can be operated even when wearing gloves – the surface is made of glass and is very robust. All the functions can be called up via three simple operating levels: one for users and one PIN-protected level each for the chef and the service technician. Practical: during the wash cycle, the display clearly shows the progress of the programme. The current tank and boiler temperatures can also be called up quickly to check hygiene safety.
Behind the PT Series passthrough dishwasher stands a concept of perfect hygiene and convenient cleaning. The interior of the machine is smooth and seamless. There is a special hygienic rack guide. The tank is deep-drawn and has a hygienic heating element. There are no hiding places or concealed corners in the interior for dirt to accumulate or deposits form. In conjunction with the integrated self-cleaning programme, the maintenance cleaning required is kept to a minimum. The detergent sensor, hygiene logbook, Thermostop function and CONNECTED WASH provide additional safety. The PT offers an extremely high, hygiene standard. The DIN EN 17735 hygiene certificate confirms this.
Every PT comes with variable water pressure regulation as standard: VarioPower adjusts the wash pressure precisely to the type of wash items and how dirty they are. Fine glasses and fragile bowls are washed at low water pressure, while sturdy dishes are washed at a higher water pressure. Resulting in heavy soiling being reliably removed, while light and delicate wash items are handled gently and held securely in position.
Washing up is dirty and heavy work. The PT is prepared for this: with an effective quadruple filtration system. In Stage 1, the tank water is passed over a strainer, which transports the dirt into the filter cylinder. In Stage 2, the dirt particles are filtered out of the water. The high resistance to dirt and easy handling of the cylinder, reduces the amount and duration of manual cleaning. Then, in Stage 3, the filter bottom ensures that small objects such as toothpicks cannot block the pump. In Stage 4, the Mediamat filters the finest dirt particles such as coffee grounds from the water. Additional pump protection prevents mechanical damage to the pump. The result: continuously clean tank water. The cleaner the tank water, the better the wash result.
A bonus for the PT Series: the EnergyLight waste water heat recovery system is fitted as standard. The heat exchanger uses the energy from the waste water to heat the cold inlet water. The advantages: the machine heats up faster between wash cycles, resources are conserved, and energy costs are saved by up to 10 %.
With the PT, the EnergyPlus exhaust air heat recovery system is available as an optional extra. In contrast to the EnergyLight waste water heat recovery system that comes fitted as standard, EnergyPlus offers a more efficient waste water heat exchanger and an exhaust air heat exchanger. It uses the energy from the hot steam inside the machine to pre-heat the cold inlet water. When you open the machine, hardly any steam escapes. And up to 15 % of energy costs are saved per wash cycle. The grease filter can be easily and quickly removed for cleaning.
Convenient and practical too: In sizes M and L, the PT is available with an automatic hood. The machine can be operated without effort – a real relief for dishwashing staff. The hood is closed with a simple press of a button: via the display or an ergonomically positioned button. The wash cycle then starts automatically. At the end of the programme, the hood automatically lifts up to indicate that the wash cycle has finished.
Take advantage of every opportunity to make savings: The PT Series is available with an optional driven rinse system – a patented innovation from Winterhalter. Here, a small electric motor for each wash field ensures that no water has to be used for the drive during rinsing and that the entire water volume is available for washing. Compared to the standard drive, the rinse water volume is reduced by 0.4 litres per wash cycle. And that means: significantly lower operating costs.
The PT Series is available in two different sizes, to allow customers to choose the machine size that best suits their application and the space available on site:
- the compact PT-M for washing dishes (rack size: 500 x 500 mm)
- the extra-wide PT-L for dishes, large plates and trays (rack size: 500 x 600 mm)
The exact dimensions of the individual machine sizes can be found in the .
Digitalisation is creating new opportunities in the field of commercial warewashing and improving both safety and efficiency. With CONNECTED WASH, the PT Series can be integrated into your network and important operating data can be evaluated. Consequently, recommendations and actions are made that will help to optimise the washing process. The machine status can be monitored from anywhere in the world through the free app. In the event of a critical error, CONNECTED WASH automatically sends a notification to a defined group of recipients. In addition, the PT automatically receives important updates, ensuring its software is always up to date.
At the end of a working day: the PT has a guided self-cleaning programme to ensure the machine works perfectly for many years. Fully automatic cleaning of the machine interior is started using the touch screen. User-friendly pictograms on the display then guide you through the subsequent manual cleaning stages. The drain pump automatically removes residual water from the machine ensuring it is completely empty. This prevents the formation of deposits and the build-up of odours.
In addition to waste water and exhaust air heat recovery, another option for the PT is the ClimatePlus heat pump: this not only draws on the thermal energy from inside the machine to heat the tank and rinse water – it also uses the heat from the air in the room. This reduces the energy costs by up to 35 % and minimises the impact on the room climate. So little steam escapes from the machine at the end of the wash cycle, that generally there is no need for additional extraction.

Gleaming dishes. Shiny cutlery. Sparkling glasses. Hygienically clean cups. Or all of these together. The PT can be precisely adapted through software settings to the wash items and the type of soiling: there are dish, bistro, cutlery, glass or cup warewashers, and each of these has up to three standard programmes as well as other individual setting options. If your requirements change, no problem – the PT adapts easily and always delivers first-class wash results.
And, if you need to wash dishes as well as utensils, there is the hybrid warewasher, the PT Utensil, which delivers first-class wash results for both utensils and dishes. And it doesn’t matter whether you switch back and forth or wash one type of item the whole day.
The highest wash quality – offering flexibility regardless of your budget: the PT Series is available with the PAY PER WASH payment model. An alternative to purchasing, renting or leasing: you pay for washing only when the machine is running – with a fixed price per wash cycle. No initial investment is required. Everything is included, from the machine, racks and chemicals, through to maintenance and repairs.
Commercial warewashing is always individual, since requirements, applications and standards differ in every case. That’s why the PT also offers a whole range of special programmes – for example, a basic cleaning programme, soaking programme and intensive programme for particularly severe soiling. There’s the short programme for when you need things quickly, the ECO programme for extra energy-saving, or the Silence programme for extra-quiet operation. There are also programmes for a quick tank water change, descaling and self-cleaning. And if that’s not enough, additional special programmes can be configured as required.
Better safe than sorry: the PT automatically monitors detergent and rinse aid levels – ensuring there are always enough chemicals. With a display indication and a signal tone, the acoustic warning informs staff when one of the canisters is empty.
The PT uses every available opportunity for reducing energy costs: stand-by mode switches on automatically during wash breaks and the boiler temperature drops – only to a level that the rinse water can be heated to the set temperature again during the next wash cycle. Your PT uses less energy as a result, yet it is always ready for operation.
Double the power: the PT Series has the option to connect two machines together. The TwinSet offers several advantages: during peak periods, the washing capacity is doubled and even very large quantities of wash items can be handled. To improve the wash result, the wash items can be washed separately – for example, dishes in one machine and glasses in another. If the volume of wash items falls again, you can save on costs by operating just one machine.
If the water is too hard and impairs wash results, the PT is optionally available with integrated softener. It is built into the machine to save space and provides continuous soft water using ion exchange. Detergent and rinse aids work best in soft water and deliver improved wash results. Simultaneously, limescale deposits in the machine are reduced, preventing the long-term damage associated with limescale. When the regeneration salt is used up and must be replenished, an automatic message appears on the display.
Protects against unnecessary energy loss: if the hood of the PT is opened for too long between rinse cycles, the machine automatically alerts you. A message on the display and an acoustic signal remind dishwashing staff to close the hood to save energy.
* Fluorinated greenhouse gases contained in a hermetically sealed device; refrigerant R450A, 0.80 kg, 0.44 tonnes of CO2 equivalent; greenhouse gas potential 547 (IPCC-AR5).
Turning a warewasher into a real solution: the PT Series adapts to the available on site space and offers various installation options. The machine and its tabling can be set up in a continuous straight line or optionally in a corner configuration. There is also the possibility to vary the working direction: left-right or right-left.
A special cup rack with various inserts: up to 25 hygienically washed reusable plastic cups in under two minutes. They are so dry after the wash cycle that they can be stacked inside each other to save space. The reusable plastic cup washing system provides certified hygiene safety in accordance with DIN SPEC 10534. It is available for all Winterhalter PT Series passthrough dishwashers, including retrofitting.
Quality makes the difference: the PT hood is made of double-skinned stainless steel. This not only reduces noise emissions but also heat loss – so reducing energy costs.
A machine must be easy to operate. The PT SERIES passthrough dishwashers are also impressive in this area: Thanks to the ergonomically shaped handles, the hood is easy, convenient and safe to open and close.
In order that the detergent can fully develop its efficiency, the PT Series is also available with an integrated detergent dosing device. It is built into the machine to save space. The PT perfectly matches the detergent dosing to the items being washed and how dirty they are. This not only guarantees perfect wash results, but also prevents the unnecessary cost of overdosage.
Rinsing is crucial to achieve perfectly hygienic wash results. But only if the rinsing temperature is right. The PT Series monitors this: The Thermostop device does not allow the rinsing process to begin until the temperature in the boiler has reached the defined value.
The PT Series machines are equipped with a detergent sensor as standard. The sensor monitors the inflow of the detergent and guarantees that the washing in the tank always includes detergent. If a problem with the dosing device should arise, if the feeder line is clogged or if there is a leak, the sensor sounds an alarm.
No streaks. Fast drying. Brilliant shine. Rinse aids offer plenty of advantages – if the dosage is right. The standard equipment includes an integrated rinse aid dosing device which ensures exact and economical dosing – delivering perfect rinsing and drying results.
Where is pre-rinsing carried out and where are the clean dishes placed? Where are the containers for detergent and rinse aid stored? Is there enough storage space? These questions are easily answered with Winterhalter inlet tables and drain tops: The available space can be optimally utilised, and the tables are perfectly matched to the work processes on site. For ergonomic operation.
Reaching the right temperature more quickly and being ready for operation – increased boiler heating makes it possible: the additional heating power ensures significantly shorter heating-up times even with cold inlet water, rapid machine readiness, and rapid washing rack after rack. This is a particular advantage at peak times and when starting up the machine. Optionally available for all PT Series machines.
Ready for anything: the PT Series has a multifunction interface on board. An external port offers direct and easy access: allowing the connection of additional technology like external dosing devices or feeder tubes for chemicals. An optional interface certified to standard DIN 18875 is available: The PT can be integrated into an external energy management system via this power optimisation connection.
In some cases, higher temperatures are required due to special hygiene requirements. The PT Series has a HighTemp mode for this purpose: By adjusting the washing programmes and setting the temperatures individually, the washing can be done at higher temperatures.
Comfortable and practical: it is possible to plan with the PT the time the machine starts up or closes down. The machine then switches on/off automatically – and is ready when the first wash needs to get underway.
For more flexibility during washing: with the optional double-rack system, washing can be carried out on two levels in just one wash cycle. A special cup-holding rack can be combined with a 500x500 mm plate rack made of plastic-coated wire. This doubles the washing capacity per wash cycle with first-class washing results – and reduces operating costs.
Important for first-class wash results: the PT rinse booster pump guarantees that the necessary water pressure for the rinse cycle is always available. If the building water pressure is too low or a water treatment device is connected, the rinse booster pump compensates for this.
The ‘Cool’ cold water rinse is optionally available for the PT Series glasswasher: Rinsing the hot glasses with cold water after the wash cycle allows them to be reused straight away. This also ensures that chilled drinks are always served cold. It also retains the head on beer or ale in the glass. Positive result: Unnecessary waiting times are avoided, and hardly any hot and humid steam escapes when the machine is opened.
Just in case: Thanks to the PT Series integrated hygiene and operations logbook, compliance with HACCP hygiene standards can be proven at any time. Critical operating data is automatically saved in this logbook.
Important for first-class wash results: the PT rinse booster pump guarantees that the necessary water pressure for the rinse cycle is always available. If the building water pressure is too low or a water treatment device is connected, the rinse booster pump compensates for this.
The PT Series is equipped with standard active energy management, which makes optimum use of the available energy. The start-up, heat-up time is reduced by up to 50% and the machine is quickly ready for operation. The programme length is also shorter – which increases the overall capacity.
The PT makes washing as easy as possible: The wash cycle begins automatically when the hood is closed. Not only is this convenient, it also saves time. The automatic hood start function is a part of standard equipment and can also be deactivated if desired.
